Professional Recognition Procedure
In order to work in Germany, the foreign qualification must be recognized in Germany. After the applicant has received a job offer, all necessary documents are collected, notarized, and translated by us. Which documents must be submitted in which form is determined by the recognition authority of each federal state. This process typically takes 6 to 8 months depending on the federal state.
Each federal state has its own criteria for fulfilling the requirements for practicing as a nursing professional. After completing the recognition procedure for a professional practice permit as a nursing professional, one receives either full recognition (as a nursing professional) or partial recognition, if significant differences between the foreign and German professional qualification are identified. In the case of partial recognition, a so-called deficit notice is issued, which contains the necessary measures to still obtain full recognition. These necessary measures may include theory hours, practical hours in individual specialist areas, or language deficits. In practice, this involves either an adaptation course or a knowledge examination. Usually, the decision depends on the employer's possibilities.
