Training

LANGUAGE AS THE KEY

Good knowledge of the German language is the fundamental prerequisite for successful integration in both professional and private life. Nurses from abroad who wish to work as skilled professionals in Germany must demonstrate German language skills at least at B2 level. Therefore, we cooperate closely with language schools in the nurses' country of origin. Since general language skills are not sufficient for everyday professional life, specialized professional language skills are taught. Students are prepared for the TELC B1/B2 or Goethe Institute examination. Since participation in a knowledge examination is often a possibility for skilled workers from third countries to have their qualifications recognized, we support preparation for the knowledge examination. We are happy to advise you on choosing the optimal, subsidized training.

  • Organization of language courses in the skilled workers' countries of origin (TELC or Goethe Institute)
  • Examinations in the home country
  • Preparatory courses for the knowledge examination
  • In-house training (service instructions, hygiene plan, corporate mission statement, etc.)

INFO: Since many qualifications from third countries are not comparable to the EU standard, the recognition process often identifies deficits. These "deficits" are compensated through successful completion of a knowledge examination or an adaptation course in a hospital. The knowledge examination, consisting of an oral and practical examination, is comparable to the examination that health and nursing professionals complete in Germany. Language courses and preparatory courses for the knowledge examination may potentially be subsidized (through education vouchers such as WeGebAu or continuing education funding programs of individual federal states (e.g., Brandenburg up to 70%, Lower Saxony up to 50%)).
